We were told in china that WE was the airline not thai international and we could not use the lounge, had no baggage allowance other than the minimum. We chose TG because it was star alliance and we are permanent lifetime gold members. There is no reason to pay a premium for TG if it is not a TG flight and we cannot use the lounge or have a low baggage limit. The check in staff noted our bags were exactly 20 kgs each and said there would be a charge of USD45 per kilo if we had exceeded that amount. This is ridiculous given that we should have the same as UA or SG."

The counter personnel were so helpful in calling the gate for permission to board. We ran across the airport and made it thanks to Thai Smile staff."

ข้อเสีย: "The flight from BKK-VTE did not allow online check-in and had to check in at the airport. The line to check in had 10 people in front of me which then proceeded to take over 1.5 hours to reach the counter. then was the very last person to get on the flight - the plane then didn’t leave for another 30 minutes. Thai Smile managed to make a 1 hour flight to Vientiane turn into a 4-5 hour journey between arriving early, waiting forever in the counter check in line, then being driven to the plane and actually leaving. Bangkok Airways and Air Asia (don meaung) is the better option for this short journey."

ข้อเสีย: "Arrived to BKK international with Turkmen airlines. Found Thai Smile transfer counter in transit zone. Was refused to Thai Smile flight, was explained that they serve only customers which arrived to BKK with Thai airways. Lost my money and had to buy another ecpencieve flight from Malaysia airlines because couldn't stay in transit zone more than 12 hours and couldn't get visa on arrival. Later coldn'd find that stupid transit policy ether on Thai Smile or Kayak. If that policy in place why not publish that BEFORE people spend their money for service not provided? Very unsatisfied"

All of the cheaper budget airlines charge for everything including checked bags, drinks and food. It's only a few baht/ US dollars more than the other airlines but well worth it for what you get in return compared to the other airlines such as Air Asia!"

Having flown the A350 to Bangkok which was newer and much better, did not see why they couldn’t operate the flight back on the same platform"

Purchased additional baggage and the flight was canceled due to covid. When they rebooked us they didn’t carry over the extra baggage. They wanted to charge 3x the original ticket price for “added” weight… 6000 bhat for an additional 15kilo (which would of been easily covered by what we originally booked) took nearly 2 hours to work out and they only let us check in minutes before our flight boarded. Very unhappy.

Also, they required everyone to turn all electronic devices completely off during take-off, ascent, descent, and landing. They wouldn't allow you to use them even in airplane mode for some reason, despite most other airlines worldwide allowing airplane mode throughout the entire flight."

When I booked, I must have put the ticket under Susie instead of Susanne and despite showing her my passport she said I was going to be charged 800 baht to fix my name. It took two separate supervisors for them to realize that the passport number I booked with was in fact the same passport number I was presenting to them. I also wanted to check a piece of luggage and had to go to a different counter, waiting on another line to pay for the luggage. Not one person explained that upon landing in Bangkok for my layover that I would need to take my luggage off of the carousel and then repeat the process I did at the Chiang Mai Airport. It baffles me that they have no organization because prior to getting up to the counter, 4 people were clearly unhappy with the customer service. I would not recommend this airline company to anyone, in fact I would advise that people wouldn’t use it."

Then we we finally arrived at our destination we had to wait for 10 minutes for a second set of busses to arrive. Then once we get into a building we have to walk up a flight of stairs with our suit cases. I was traveling with my 72 year old mother. Not impressed. It's one thing to delay flights it's another to make your passengers go through hoops to get to their destination."

ข้อเสีย: "There was a large group that seemed like a class trio with over 20 children who were loud and rude the entire flight. Parents and flight attendants did not tell them to calm down or act more polite."

ข้อเสีย: "We were squished in like sardines. My neck and back still hurt. They are sticklers about bags. No more than 7 kg (roughly 15lbs). Over all experience not so good."

Cost me the same amount for my baggage penalty for 5 lbs overweight as my tickets for two! Especially when they tell me to add the extra weight to my carry on... so what's the big deal? Same total baggage weight! I'll never fly with them again!"

ข้อเสีย: "There was the least amount of legroom I've ever seen on any other airline, my legs were digging into the seat in front of my when I was sitting perfectly upright. They also didn't serve even water."

ข้อเสีย: "Extremely little leg room. Also they have sneaky charges for luggage weight. Anything over 15kg and they charge you for every extra kilogram. If you want to check in a second luggage you have to check in 4 hours ahead and you still have to pay a lot of money, and it is based on the weight of your luggage . If you don't check in 4 hours in advance and you have an extra suitcase, they charge you by the kilogram and it is ridiculously expensive. More than he cost of the entire flight! And if your flight has multiple legs, you have to pay for the extra luggage every single leg."

ข้อเสีย: "The overall floght was ok with the crew pretty helpful. However coming in to land the plane swayed sideaays seemingly to be off course but probably due to wind shear. Touching down was one of the hardest I ever experienced with all passengers in shock on the force it kanded"

ข้อเสีย: "Sat at exit row, great legroom but no reclining. Seat itself was not comfy."

ข้อดี: "This is want low cost should be. Do the basics right, brand new plane, on time and impeccable crew. That's all I wanted."

ข้อเสีย: "Seat pitch a bit thight but it was expected. If you're tall I'd suggest the extra charge for emergency exit."
