Zeiss 24-70 mm f 2.8 mm alpha mount
This model has smooth Bokeh, and sharp images. Picture quality is better than the comparable specifications as the Tamron model. Looking forward to using it in the semi pro capacity. If you are going to pay for a top shelf zoom lens, this is the range to splurge on. I tried for weeks to find cheaper options, but ultimately decided that this was going to be the workhorse on my A99. The build quality and image quality have been impressive and as-advertised. The sturdy metal hood is a nice touch. Some reported that the lens is excessively heavy, but it seems very manageable to me on my A99, and I hike with it. One small knock would be the lack of a zoom lock. The lens often extends completely while I hike around with it at my side. I also wish it was environmentally sealed. However, those are small issues. You should bite the bullet and buy this lens if you have a professional Sony body to match. I also splurged on the Sony 75-400G for about the same price this last year. For image quality and usability, this lens has been a much better value. Best zoom in its category!
This is the best 24-70 f/2.8 lens available from any manufacturer. It is a bit heavy and large but it is like having 3-4 lenses in one. Image quality is outstanding at all distances. Micro contrast is high, nice colors, subjects are 3D like and almost pop out of the screen. Highly recommended to Sony camera users.
